Poem: What a LOVE - olaitan Victor
WHAT A LOVE!
Oh! What a love this is!
For the guiltless to bear the guilt of the guilty
and rescue his soul
from a damnation inevitable.
Oh what a love this is!
For the son of God becoming a man
so man will become sons of God,
and have a part in Life's bond.
Oh what love this!
For a Lord to leave his castle,
and become a rejected wanderer.
To redeem the lost sheep of Israel
Oh what a Love this is!
Who for our sake with thorns was crowned,
scourged and flayed with bladed whips
and our stripes on his back recieved
Oh what a love this is!
Upon his shoulders our pains bore
right up to golgotha on the cross of calvary
for shame dying among robbers and ruffians.
Oh what a love this is!
When on the third day arose from death
breaking before us the gates of hell.
Victory has he given over sin and death.
Oh what a love this!
When to his heavenly home he ascended,
a place to prepare for those he loves
and to himself finally bring.
But what will become of this love,
when suddenly in the sky he reappers?
To bring to himself those his love reciprocate.
Will it all be for nought?
